The number of stray dogs in Houston continues to grow at an alarming rate.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hundreds of thousands of dogs wander the streets, sleep on trash piles or in ditches. They mate and produce numbers of unwanted litters of puppies who fall victim to the cruel life that awaits them. The cycle continues with no end in sight.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Houston K911 Rescue is a non-profit organization with a mission to address the immediate crisis of animal overpopulation in Houston by rescuing street dogs in poor health and in danger. We provide safe haven and rehabilitation. We place them in loving homes to be fostered and adopted. We turn their lives around.<\/p>\n

Many of the dogs that we take in are emergency cases that require immediate assistance. We help dogs no matter the condition they are in. We care for abandoned and neglected dogs, nurse broken bones, and help heal old and new wounds alike.<\/p>\n

The great thing is – everyone can do something to help<\/strong>. We have between 100-150 dogs in our care at any given time. We are always looking for caring homes to foster our rescues. If you can foster, we can bring in one more hungry and lonely dog off the streets and help him\/her find a loving forever home. If you don\u2019t have the means to volunteer your home, donations are a great way to ensure that we have the funds to provide quality care to the dogs. With a monthly donation or one-time gift, you can guarantee vaccines, spaying and neutering, or help with major medical bills. And – of course – you can help by adopting some of the amazing dogs that we have in our care.<\/p>\n
